Director's Report from the Field (reprinted from the LAMPLighter, Volume 1 No. 1, September, 1970)

Getting a fledgling missionary society into the air is a thrilling experience. It seems like God is going out of His way to show us His approval of this venture.

I see His hand in the interest of so many Christians who want to support the work and hear more about it, in the $2,500 grant that the AB-C District Lutheran Women's Missionary League is now gathering for us through Mite Boxes, and in the interest of about six people in placement in northern Alberta.

The response from Christians who are already living in northern communities is encouraging. People want to keep close to God. I'm looking for self study materials for adult instruction in Hay River, N.W.T. and encouraging several families in High Level, Alberta, to meet together for spiritual growth. The VBS in Chip Lake was a priceless experience. Wish you could have been there!*

Mid-September now - we had our first frost last night and snow showers were mentioned in my weather briefing today. Winter is coming; I'm looking forward to some cold flights and warm experiences.

Please encourage your friends to become members of LAMP; we want to continue what God has let us begin.

Rev. Les Stahlke, Director of LAMP
